Heavy rain disrupted electoral activities in the presidential and national assembly elections in many parts of Edo state in southern Nigeria on Saturday.
The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that the downpour, which started at 3pm, disrupted the exercise in Afuze, Sabo Ora and Uben in the Owan West local government area of the state.
Usman Bello, a journalist who lives in Edo, said a similar rain occurred in Benin City, the state capital, prolonging the voting process in the area.
NAN reports that in Uben, voting was continuing until 5 pm on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Edo Edo Police Commissioner Benjamin Okolo said police were investigating a reported case of vote-buying in the Etsako West local government area of the state.
Mr. Okolo said this while speaking while monitoring the voting exercise in the North Edo Senate District.
Adams Oshiomole, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for the Senate elections, and Philip Shaibu, vice governor of Edo state, are from the area. (YAYA)
