Ghanaian actress Akupem Poloo was sentenced Wednesday to return to prison to begin her 90-day sentence.

This was decided after the Accra High Court dismissed an appeal filed by his lawyers seeking to challenge the 90-day jail sentence imposed on him by the Accra Circuit Court on April 16 this year.

Recall that a High Court in Accra had granted Poloo ¢ 80,000 bond with two bonds to pay after thousands signed a petition for his release.

Poloo was sentenced to three months in jail for sharing a no clothe photo of herself and her son on social media.

She was charged with posting obscene material, engaging in domestic violence, and undermining human dignity. She pleaded guilty.

In a ruling on Wednesday, the Criminal Chamber of the court chaired by Judge Ruby Aryeetey upheld the circuit court’s decision on the grounds that the circuit court’s decision was not manifestly excessive.

“This court will not interfere and therefore the appeal is dismissed,” Judge Aryee said.

The court ordered that, in the absence of the convict, Akuapem Poloo’s son should be handed over to any competent person in the family for care.
