The Osun State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) arrested a father and a grandfather for the desecration of a 13-year-old girl, a primary school student of the Apostolic Church of Christ (CAC), Erin-Osun, Osun State
The arrest of Adebayo Lukman and her father, the eldest Lukman on Friday, November 26, 2021, followed a tip off the body of an informant who revealed that the girl told her that her father and grandfather have been having knowledge carnal of her.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that Adebayo had had carnal acquaintance with the victim two years earlier, adding that her parents had separated which led her to stay with her maternal grandmother.
She revealed that she had been staying with her maternal grandmother since she was three years old, but her father forcibly removed her from her place.
She revealed that at age five she began staying with her paternal grandfather, who also began to have carnal knowledge of her.
The father, Adebayo Lukman, and her father, the eldest, Lukman, however, have denied having carnal knowledge of the girl.
Meanwhile, Osun NSCDC public relations officer Daniel Adigun has stated that the body has taken over the matter and has turned over custody of the girl to the Osun State Ministry of Women’s and Children’s Affairs pending of the conclusion of the investigation on the matter.
Furthermore, the commander of the Osun NSCDC, Emmanuel Ocheja, had ordered that an appropriate investigation be launched into the alleged case of incest and illegal carnal knowledge of the girl.
Adigun, who warned that the Corps will not condole such an act in any way, added that the protection of underage children and women was paramount not only for individuals but for the nation as a whole.
