Cameroon legend Samuel Eto’o has chosen Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé as the next player to dominate the Ballon d’Or for many years, replacing Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi is now further above Cristiano Ronaldo after collecting his seventh Ballon d’Or on Monday.
And Eto’o, former Inter Milan striker, backs Mbappé to become the next great Ballon d’Or.
The 22-year-old Mbappé only came in a disappointing ninth place this time, but the former Cameroonian international sees enough evidence that the French star will take over for perhaps a decade or more.
The Cameroon legend told AS: “He[Mbappe] It is there and it has arrived at a good moment, in which Messi and Cristiano, the gods of football, are in the night of their careers due to age, and Mbappé arrives.
“I hope it will be the biggest for the next ten or 15 years. He has everything to be that unique player that football needs after these two monsters ”.
