Dr. Charles Chinekekezi is a distinguished Nigerian media and management professional, an activist, and a public-affairs commentator, widely recognized for his advocacy on contemporary development issues in Nigeria. He is a Professor of Management (C.M.P.) affiliated with the Nigerian Institute of Management, Lagos.
A committed civil-rights leader, he serves as Chairman of the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), Aba Chapter — a role in which he frequently critiques government policies, particularly those relating to decaying industrial infrastructure and the management of public schools and education. Chinekekezi is also a seasoned journalist, media analyst and consultant who provides regular commentary on economic development, political leadership and the relationship between national security and the press.
Active in civil society as a political commentator, he is recognized for his analysis of national and regional affairs, including advocacy for adequate South-East representation in Nigerian national politics. His work has addressed economic reform, human rights and good governance; he consistently urges both federal and state governments to tackle urgent development challenges aimed at reducing widespread poverty, illiteracy and disease.
Dr. Chinekekezi was born on 3 August 1963. His education includes Asa Road/Asa Triangle Primary School (C.K.C.), Aba; Holy Ghost College, Owerri; Writing School, London; the College of Journalism, Fleet Street, London; West London College of Technology; and the Nigerian Institute of Management, Lagos. He holds a joint chartered professorship license in management education and training from the African American International Research Institute, and he has acquired further professional qualifications in journalism, media, diplomacy and international development, including an MBA, J.D., FNISM, FIPDM, FIPMP and other certifications.
He has edited, co-edited or illustrated books and professional manuals, including titles on movie-making and television broadcasting used as handbooks in universities and colleges. His editorial work includes contributions to textbooks and anthologies such as those by Dr. Emeka Uhegbu, the autobiography of Chief Donald Udogu (SAN), and literary works addressing contemporary social issues that are read in schools and colleges.

Dr. Chinekekezi is a past president and fellow of AAIRID and has published extensively in several reputable scholarly journals and professional publications. He has consulted for numerous private and government organizations, and has lectured widely across Africa, the Gulf region, Europe and North America. His advisory work has helped companies develop global marketing and publicity strategies and to scale opportunities inherent in multimedia platforms associated with Avatar and Quantum Technologies Group.
He has delivered keynote lectures for the AAIRID-sponsored John F. Kennedy International Development Lecture Series in Lagos, Nigeria; Accra and Kumasi, Ghana; Monrovia, Liberia; Conakry, Guinea; Bamako, Mali; Lomé, Togo; Cotonou, Benin Republic; Freetown, Sierra Leone; Dakar, Senegal; Abidjan and Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire; Nouakchott, Mauritania; and many other cities.
He is Director-General of the charter-licensed AAIRID (The African American International Research Institute of Development Studies) and a NIM-licensed Professor of Management Practice. His consulting engagements have involved corporations, agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Nigeria and abroad, and these collaborations are reflected in his many published writings, commentaries and analyses across academic, professional and news media platforms. He has delivered public lectures and papers, and has edited, co-edited, produced or reviewed books, autobiographies and documentaries.
