The five-member panel of the tribunal, headed by Haruna Tsammani, on Wednesday dismissed the petitions of Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the Labor party. peter obi and the All Peoples Movement (APM) against the victory of APC President Bola Tinubu on February 25.
The court also dismissed the double nomination case against Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The APC, in a statement by its spokesman, Felix Morka, on Wednesday, said the court’s verdict “is a strong affirmation of the mandate freely given to APC Chairman Tinubu by the Nigerian electorate, and constitutes an absolute victory for our country.” . democracy.”
The party praised the court for upholding the popular mandate given to Mr. Tinubu.
“We congratulate PEPT for manifesting justice in this matter and for upholding the popular will of Nigerians expressed through their votes.
“We congratulate our beloved President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, party members, their supporters and the Nigerian electorate on this magnificent victory,” the statement read in part.
On March 1, the INEC declared Tinubu the winner of the February presidential election.
He defeated 17 other candidates and was later inaugurated as the 16th Nigerian leader since independence in 1960.
