The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for Lagos state, Abdulazeez Adediran (Jandor), visited Jennifer Seifegha on Sunday, injured during the electoral process in Surulere.
Jandor told reporters at the woman’s residence on Dipo Olubi street, Ikate, Surulere, that her courage motivated him to still go out to cast his vote despite his injuries.
“I came to see the woman who has become the hero of this democracy as a result of her courage, which is very contagious. For someone to have been so hurt and still come back to the voting unit to cast her ballot is very patriotic, and I appreciate her candor,” she said.
The PDP gubernatorial candidate labeled her husband, Christopher Seifegha, as the MVP, for allowing his wife to return to the voting unit after suffering such a facial injury.
“It didn’t matter who you voted for yesterday, but the fact is that what you did by continuing to come out and cast your vote is a positive message for everyone.
“She has sent a kind of courage so that all of us can stand our ground even in the face of provocation and still make a point,” he said.

“We have seen a lot of things happen, and we will uphold those vows and make sure we give Lagos back to the people of Lagos and Nigeria to all of us,” Jandor said.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that thugs injured Ms. Seifegha in Nuru/Oniwo district, polling unit 065, Surulere, while she was waiting to vote.
Ms. Seifegha said that she arrived at the voting unit around 9:00 am to exercise her civic right and after doing her verification, she was in line waiting her turn to vote.
“Then I sat down when the line didn’t seem to move until I noticed a group of guys who came to inspect the area because they didn’t vote and then left.
“After about an hour, they came back, and then there was a commotion, and I felt shock on my face,” he said.
The victim said he was punched in the face and sustained deep cuts from which blood oozed.
She said a lady put a cloth over her eyes to help staunch the bleeding, and then they hid because they weren’t sure if the thugs were still around.
“After the shock subsided, I was taken to a nearby nurse who administered first aid that helped stop the bleeding.
“I’m sure that’s the video that went viral, and then my husband took me to the hospital where the nurses sewed up the cuts in about five places,” she said.
Ms. Seifegha thanked Jandor for visiting her.
