He Joint Board of Admissions and Matriculation (JAMB) has suspended the ongoing 2023 Direct Entry (DE) registration exercise until further notice.
The registration that began on Monday, February 20, has been suspended with effect from Tuesday, February 21, according to a statement issued by the examination body.
The statement, which was signed by JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol Fabian Benjamin, noted that “the suspension is to allow the deployment of certain measures, which are designed to better serve potential candidates.”
The examining body had initially scheduled the registration to end on Thursday, April 20, but said a new process would be announced very soon.

The board further stated in the statement that the new registration procedures will include the “JAMB admission letter upload in the case of OND and NCE, the admission letter issued by universities in the case of a university diploma, and the letter of admission issued by level A”. examination bodies (IJMBE, JUPEB, etc.).”
He noted that the new dates will be announced in due course so that candidates can proceed to JAMB offices across the country to register, adding that only JAMB offices are approved to register candidates for direct entry.

The board had also extended the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exams (UTME) registration exercise by one week from February 15.
Mr. Benjamin said that by extension, the ePIN sale would end on Monday, February 20, while UTME registration would end on Wednesday, February 22.
Benjamin said the board, thereafter, granted the extension to ensure that all candidates wishing to register for UTME 2023 could do so “especially when the existing challenges were not of their own making.”
