The Director General of the Support Group Ahmed Tinubu, Abdulmummin Jibrinwas seen on Friday in the company of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential hopeful Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Jibrin is having a constant battle with the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano.
He had threatened to leave the APC, but was later convinced to stay after the intervention of Mr. Tínubu, who aspires to emerge as the APC’s presidential candidate.
State Governor Abdullahi Gandust also made promises to resolve the crisis between Jibrin and local party officials.
“I did the best I could for APC. It’s time to move. I will announce my new political party within the next 24 hours Insha Allah. I will make a formal statement at the time,” the former deputy had said.
But it seems that the party could not assuage Mr. Jibrin’s complaint.
The former deputy was seen on Friday afternoon in the company of members of the NNPP.

He was also photographed displaying a fruit basket, a badge of the NNPP.
Another popular APC politician pictured alongside Messrs. Jibrin and Kwankwaso is former presidential aide, Kawu Sumaila.
Sumaila, an aspiring senator in Kano Sur, is fighting to unseat Kabiru Gaya.
Both politicians could not be reached for comment Friday night.
