
Akpata said this during the closing ceremony of the inaugural edition of the tournament in Lagos, where a total of five teams participated.
The president praised the level of competitiveness between the teams in the tournament, adding that the next edition will see a more eventful start for the teams.
“I must congratulate all the teams for the quality of the competition that we have all witnessed in the last week. The next edition will see at least eight teams compete and we hope it will only get better for women’s cricket on the continent,” said Akpata.
The President also praised Access Bank Plc, the main sponsor of the tournament, as well as other sponsors and partners of the event.
