
A famous Nigerian actress, Kemi Afolabi, has said that her doctor told her that she has five more years to live and a year has already passed.
The 43-year-old actress revealed this in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
The actress also said that she was diagnosed with lupus.
Afolabi made his debut in the Yoruba movie “Alagba”. However, to the surprise of many, she took a long break from the film industry for almost five years between 2008 and 2013.
He has appeared in numerous Nigerian movies such as ‘Gold Statue’ (2019), ‘Capone’s Wife’ (2019), ‘Ayomi Sandra’ (2015), ‘Oreke mulero’ (2006), ‘Obinrin Ale Tinuke’ (2009), ‘Ayomi Sandra’ (2015), ‘Obinrin Ale Tinuke’ (2009) and ‘Omo pupa’ (2008).

Lupus is an autoimmune and inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks your tissues. It may also be called systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). It can affect the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs.
The actress said that the disease can only be controlled with medication.
“I have lupus. It is not curable. You just have to take medication for the rest of your life. I have spent more than N1 million on treatment, but I did not get the desired result.”

She said her doctor had instructed her to stay close to her loved ones as she only has five years to live.
“Make sure you are with your loved ones. At least, you still have up to five years.
The actress also stated that she was already prepared for death. She said that she had prepared her will and reserved a funeral place for her.
“I wrote my will and reserved a space in Ebony Vault in 2021, but God showed me how faithful He is despite my unfaithfulness. Who am I for God to be so aware of my existence? Me, ordinary sand? That was thrown from a private hospital to Lagos State University Teaching Hospitalto the WAEC Army Barracks Hospital and finally to LUTH, where I spent more than three months.”
In early January, Afolabi took to Instagram to announce that he had been diagnosed with an incurable disease.
“Finally, I was diagnosed with a condition that has no cure but can be controlled with medication and leads me to be in and out of the hospital at will (LES).
“The liquid blocked my lungs, affected my heart so that it did not work well, which was the reason for my shortness of breath and that is caused by the diagnosed condition! Surgery was the only option to drain the fluid quickly,” she wrote.
Weight gain
In October 2021, she shared a video on her Instagram where she recorded her discontent with those who rebuked her for her weight gain.
In the post, he stated that he had always dismissed criticism and complaints about his weight gain.
The actress also expressed her dissatisfaction with the constant struggle to stay in shape despite taking medication.
