It’s was a gathering of family members, friends and acquaintances at the funeral service of late Mrs. Clara Ekwueme as she was laid to rest in her husband’s compound located at Ipupe Ubakala in Umuahia South local government council, Abia state.
The funeral mass was conducted at St. Patrick’s Catholic church, Ubakala.In his funeral oration on the biography of late Mrs. Clara Ekwueme, his first son Ndubuisi Ekwueme described his mother as a virtuous woman who lived as a committed Catholic all her life. Speaking further Ndubuisi Ekwueme noted that their late mother was very loving yet a discplinarian who ensured that her children imbibed the virtue of proper time management early in life.Though her children were young when her husband passed away, she worked doggedly to raise all her seven children to become responsible adult men and women. Late Mrs. Ekwueme displayed high level intelligence in business and community life; always peace loving and she was an inspiration to many.After the funeral mass, her body was interred as her husband’s compound in Ipupe, Ubakala in Umuahia South.Late Mrs.
Clara Ekwueme passed-on on the 18th of November, 2021 at Modonna Catholic Hospital Umuahia after a brief illness. She was aged 80 years.She is survived by seven children, son’s and daughters in law and many grand children. Among her son-in-law’s is Pastor Simeon Ikonne. He is married to Mrs. Ijeoma Ikonne nee Ekwueme.
