The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) confirmed on Saturday the release of the Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, who was arrested for suspected fraud.
Commission spokesman Wilson Uwujaren told the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) in Abuja that Okechukwu was released on January 31.
Mr. Okechukwu was arrested on an alleged case of conspiracy, abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds.
He arrived at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on January 29, at around 1:30 p.m., following an invitation from the Commission.
The anti-corruption agency reportedly questioned him and then released him on bail. (YAYA)
