The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed a fire incident in the state on Wednesday in the huts at the Okobaba sawmill, Ebute Metta.
Speaking to PREMIUM TIMES on Tuesday, LASEMA spokesperson Nosa Okunbor said the agency’s emergency respondents are currently there. However, he said he had no details of the incident yet.
The incident is the first fire the state would register in the new year.
In March 2021, a fire swept through many of the shacks in the area. The fire had started in one of the barracks and had spread to other areas.
