Thugs invade TV station in Zamfara, injure editor and destroy work tools

Armed thugs have invaded the office of Thunder Blowers Online, an online newspaper and a television station in Gusau, the capital of the state of Zamfara.

PREMIUM TIMES learned that the attackers broke into the offices Monday night, injured a multimedia editor, Mansur Rabiu, and destroyed some work tools.

In a statement signed by Zaharadeen Zarumi to management, the news organization said the attackers said they were sent to “teach one of our staff a lesson.”

“They said they were sent to teach a lesson to one of our staff, Abdul Balarabe. But he was not present when they arrived, so they decided to descend on the personnel present. A multimedia editor, Mansur Rabiu, was injured and had his phone taken away, while another member of staff, Sulaiman Dan Aljanna, had his personal computer taken away, ”the statement added.

However, the statement highlighted that the organization had no idea who sent the attackers.

Zamfara state police spokesman Mohammed Shehu did not respond to calls and SMS sent to him about the attack.
