
The Emir of Fika and Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers of Yobe, Dr. Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa, has warned motorists, especially commercial drivers, to desist from reckless driving and other dangerous behaviors before, during and after the holiday season this year. .
The emir gave the warning in an interview with journalists on Tuesday in the city of Potiskum, Yobe state.
It warned passengers and commuters to set off security alarms by informing drivers to law enforcement officers whenever they are found recklessly driving on the highways.
“When a driver is misbehaving make sure you can warn him because your destiny is in your hands and when you close your mouth, you are closing your destiny,” he said.
However, the monarch recommended that motorists obey the rules and regulations to ensure safety and avoid traffic accidents on the roads before, during and after the festive season.
He also recommended that passengers make sure to board vehicles without mechanical deficiencies before embarking on a trip, which he said is to avoid avoidable road accidents derived from mechanical failures.
