The party’s state chapter in a press release from state media and publicity secretary Okelo Madukife said the people of Anambra only learned that their governor was abroad when he was placed on the Commission’s watch list. of Economic and Financial Crimes. (EFCC).
Okelo said: “We are concerned about a new issue that has emerged from the responses given from the ANSG (Anambra State Government) side so that the Governor of Anambra State is already abroad.
“The burning question is: Do you have to take the issues that come up from the EFCC so Anambra State knows that its governor is abroad?
“Is it so difficult after seven years and eight months to understand that the state of Anambra has the right to know when Governor Obiano is leaving the state and for what purpose, much less when he is leaving the country?
“Why can’t Governor Obiano and his government learn from President Muhammadu Buhari on this issue?”
The party said that in addition to being abroad, the state should have been informed if it was a public holiday, a work visit, etc., and the length of their stay. He said the governor should also have addressed the question of who will be in charge of the state in his absence.
Madukife said: “The Governor is hereby reminded that, subject to the details of this secret Governor trip, the cloudiness of which may have prompted the EFCC’s open statement, the Governor must notify the Anambra State House of Assembly. , for which Dr. Nkem Okeke, the Lieutenant Governor will act as Governor until he returns.
