In truth, reasonable political opposition remains the bedrock and indeed the spice of genuine democratic practices worldwide. Reason why great democracies such as the USA, India and even its originating nation of Greece have stayed proud of their truly democratic ideals to date. But imitation democracies like those in Africa, most especially the Nigerian version, which is still in its experimental stages, wholesomely, most times, decide to be outrightly irresponsible and baselessly unfocused. A situation that seeks to rubbish democracy at all times due to the selfish greed of humans with despotic and tyrannical tendencies, who pretend to also cherish the ideals of true democracy, which at all times focuses on reasonable criticism and presentation of superior argument over trending political, social and economic issues.
Let us come home locally to Abia State in the Federal Republic of Nigeria where we seem to have the worst specie of opposition politicians without an iota of moral conscience when it comes to issues of important social discussions, conversations, or narratives. Take for instance how the People’s Democratic Party lost the Governorship Election in the state which held in early 2023 to the much loved Labour Party and its flag bearer, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, who won on a landslide victory with over one hundred thousand votes in excess. Is it not utterly ridiculous to note that members of the disgraced and completely decimated Peoples Democratic Party, had the shamelessness and outright foolishness of going to the Election Petitions Court to contest such resounding victory? claiming that the PDP won that election in very clear terms. However when the election tribunal asked them to prove their wild claims, they were moping like people operating under the influence of a mixture of rum and narcotic drugs. This is even when the immediate past governor Okezie Ikpeazu whose candidate, one Mr. Okey Ahaiwe, whose name remains synonymous with frauds and sundry crimes, lost very convincingly and transparently, congratulated the Labour Party candidate, Dr. Alex Otti, eulogizing his Sterling qualities, resilience, discipline and maturity and subsequently advising his grieving and brooding party members never to ever contemplate on any type of legal action against the victorious Labour Party and its candidate, Dr. Alex Otti.
But seventy two hours later, the entire PDP, the same immediate past governor, Ikpeazu who also shamefully lost his senatorial election ambition embarked on a volte face and turned three hundred and sixty degrees opposite to file a completely worthless election petition case against Dr. Otti and the Labour Party in the name of maintaining a political opposition presence. What a shame to a group of frustrated lunatics whose action only further angered the Abia public, who now got readier to make sure the principal actors of the past twenty-four years brigandage must not go scot free from their past excesses in looting, stealing, arson, extra judicial murders, appropriation of public property and all such vices that reigned supreme during their period in power?
Now these PDP bad losers who never reason like humans cannot find anything else to contest and have finally resorted to constituting themselves into mere assault gangs with the sole aim of abusing the popularly elected Governor of Abia State, whose current antecedents remains the most impressive so far in the thirty two years history of God’s Own State. Their antics are so cheap and crude that most of the time, virtually everybody considers them so irresponsible that putting out a reply to them amounts to awarding them undeserved relevance which they continually crave in the most stupid ways.
When former first lady of Nigeria, Mrs Patience Jonathan stopped by recently to commend Governor Otti’s wave making strides in Abia since assumption of office on 29 May 2023, these never-do-wells complained against that former first lady who like most of us has her origins from Abia, just to attack Dr. Otti and his government. The most ridiculous of all is that this pack made up of the immediate past governor, the failed PDP bandit who contested the governorship on that party’s ticket, one mentally retarded John Okiyi Kalu and the funniest of them all,one Onyebuchi Ememanka who spots a silly-looking goatie beards, pretending to be both lawyer, economist, journalist, engineer, scientist and so many other things, now have made it a duty to comment negatively on every action and utterance of Abia’s Darling Governor Alex Otti.
When the Governor addressed the South East Economic and Security Summit recently in Owerri,these group of failed busy-bodies could not find anything to say, rather than criticise Governor Otti for providing the much needed regional direction in his speech at the summit. When Governor Otti thoughtfully visited the widow and family of late Dr. Sam Mbakwe, former Governor of old Imo State at Avutu, Obowo in Imo State recently, these thoughtless elements with their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram hacks did not find anything in the visit but only resorted to claiming that they were equally visiting that family when they were in power which was total falsehood as the surviving widow of the former old Imo State Governor made it categorically clear that nobody in government has ever visited them since the beginning of the forth republic in 1999. These irresponsible men even went as far as attacking Mbakwe’s widow by claiming that she lied against them, permanently making themselves recognisable as a bunch of untrained children who they are and continues to be without remorse.
Desperate men who wouldn’t apply the brakes of self control, when Dr Otti dutifully, according to his promise to the Abia public, refurbished and commissioned the Abia State Specialist Hospital and Diagnostic Centre, Amachara, instead of expressing gratitude that the new State Chief Executive have recovered that ailing medical facility by providing new expensive equipment, machines and processors which the past PDP government either looted, refused to provide or outrightly vandalized, these same bearded goats and incongruously looking fat tommies resorted to criticising the Governor for completely repainting and totally cleaning up the facility before the commissioning proper. A sign of frustration and psychiatric pain on their side. They even recruited one unknown Nollywood prostitute, Doris Ogala to abuse Governor Otti. How desperate? During the immediate past groundbreaking ceremony of the Abia State Innovation And Industrial Park, Owaza in Ukwa West Local Government Area, an ambitious project targeted to attract the entire South East enterprise initiatives and national businesses to Abia in a bid to re-jig the waning economic activities of the region and the South Southern parts of the country, these vagabonds in PDP instead of commending Otti for such innovative and creative enterprise that will recapture the lost dream of earlier proposed Obuaku city, which if it was followed up, could have at this point, linked the great Enyimba city of Aba with the Garden city of Port Harcourt, economically, socially, politically and even environmentally. Rather as the mischief makers they continue to be, they are currently abusing Governor Otti and trying to distract the attention of their miserly few followers from the impact of the State Government gigantic strides already being recorded. Reason being that these set of deranged men cannot understand how they were henceforth not going to continue to pillage the state in their former system which turned political leadership of the state into mere armed robbery, pen robbery, opposition intimidation and public humiliation. Just a group of unrepentant common criminals.

This park will also be an export processing and free trade zone with the historical implication of being the first ever cluster of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, LPG, CNG, jet fuel, PMS, and diesel production tank farms to be located alongside other supporting infrastructure. The Compressed Natural Gas, CNG, facility will engender the participation of major players in the gas value chain of the Nigerian economy anchored on the South East and South South belts in the new dispensation of economic revolution so much anticipated in the country’s past years.
In truth, the Owaza project will remain the most integrated industrial park in the entire West African sub continent that will have limitless accommodation facilities for all kinds of businesses that will ever bother to participate and reap from it, as it will continuously produce our own made-in-Nigeria Liquid Fuel, thereby eliminating scarcity and other underhand practices For the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, this is just the beginning of a much promised economic revolution which he enjoins all citizens to put their hands on deck to push the project to its promised land of economic boom and expansive prosperity. But for the thoughtless PDP critics, everything is about blackmail and peddling of lies and empty banters.They are pretending to have forgotten that Dr.Alex Otti won the Governorship election of 2015 and 2019 before finally giving them the big boot of 2023.
