
The Federal Highway Traffic Safety Corps (FRSC) Osun Command says one person lost his life in a car accident on the Osogbo-Gbongan highway on Monday.
A statement issued by the command’s spokeswoman, Agnes Ogungbemi, said the accident occurred around the secretary of state, Abere, near the FRSC base in Osogbo.
Ms. Ogungbemi explained that a white Toyota Hiace bus, with registration number: EKY 213 XP, carrying 18 people, lost control and jumped at around 1:45 pm.
“The bus was carrying eight men, 10 women and two children when the accident occurred.
“One man lost his life, while seven others suffered varying degrees of injuries, including 10 women and one child seriously injured.
“The injured victims had been rushed to Ladoke Akintola University Hospital (LAUTECH), Osogbo, for further treatment.
“The body of the deceased was taken by members of his family when they arrived at the scene of the incident,” he said.
The FRSC spokesperson added that the vehicle had been towed to the Dugbe Police Station and the road was clear for vehicular traffic to flow freely.
