Rochas Okorocha, a former governor of Imo state and a senator representing the Imo West Senate District, dismissed allegations of being behind the ugly and worrying security situation in the state.
The former governor said: “We had decided, even long before, not to rejoin the problems with the government in Imo, especially regarding its persistent attacks and porous propaganda against me, without provocation or justification.”
The former governor, who said so in a statement from his Special Advisor (Media) Sam Onwuemeodo, said that Governor Hope Uzodinma had presented the indictment without surveillance because she had raised the issue in the full Senate.
Okorocha said that he had called for the intervention of the Senate and other relevant bodies and individuals in an effort to end the persistent security problem in Imo.
The statement said: “Instead of taking that path, the governor of the lmo decided to take the route of abuse and propaganda against his senator brother, who had ruled the state before him and who is also the senator of his area. He should have collaborated with Okorocha’s new ideas on the Senate floor, on how to solve the Imo Security problem.
“The good news is that Nigerians in general, and the people of Imo in particular, know Okorocha and its history. It has a history of peace, harmony and unity. The history of the edification of life and the construction of the Nation. The history of tolerance. It has Coexistence as a guide or principle ”.
He requested that the Inspector General of Police and other interested security agencies investigate the accusation of the Governor of Imo against him in order to discover the truth or not.
