Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has stated that his primary focus is on improving the lives of the people of Kano, rather than seeking re-election in 2027.
According to Yusuf, his second term is a matter to be determined by God.
“What I am worried about is not re-election. I am more concerned about delivering the dividends of democracy on the mandate given to me in this first tenure.
“I want the good people of Kano to judge me by my performance at the end of this tenure,” he said while speaking during the monthly women empowerment programme on Wednesday.

Yusuf also warned individuals making inciting statements ahead of the 2027 general elections to desist from doing so.
He expressed confidence in his performance, stating that his work will speak for him, rather than political pressure.
“My performance will speak for me, not political pressure,” he said.
In a related development, Governor Yusuf has unveiled plans for the development of Kano State in 2025, focusing on completing ongoing road projects, expanding healthcare facilities, improving education, and supporting farmers ¹.
