Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher picks best Premier League defenders
On Friday, football legend Jamie Carragher shared his thoughts on the best center-back pairs in Premier League history.
In a post on his X account, Carragher mentioned that Arsenal’s William Saliba and Gabriel are among the top defenders. He compared them with famous pairs like John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho, and Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.
Saliba and Gabriel got Carragher’s attention after their strong performance in Arsenal’s 0-0 draw with Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League.
“Arsenal’s Gabriel & Saliba can be considered some of the best defensive pairs we’ve seen in the #PremierLeague!” Carragher tweeted. He also praised Terry & Carvalho, and Rio & Vidic.
