Governor Alex Otti and the Aba-Made Film Project Team

The Aba-Made Film Project has reached a significant milestone with the adoption of the script for “Chronicles of Enyimba,” a highly anticipated film that celebrates the rich history and industrial prowess of Aba, Enyimba City. This film, conceived four years ago, has been in rigorous script development for the past nine months, culminating in a script conference that brought together seasoned professionals to refine the narrative. The final script, now adopted as the project’s working document, marks the official transition into the production phase.

“Chronicles of Enyimba” aims to chronicle the storied past and dynamic evolution of Aba, a city in southeastern Nigeria renowned for its innovation in trade, commerce, and industry. Spanning nearly 150 years, the film will highlight the city’s journey from a vibrant pre-colonial settlement to its current status as a hub of small and large-scale production. This cinematic endeavor is not just a reflection of the city’s past but also a part of the broader vision to rejuvenate Aba under the leadership of Governor Alex Chioma Otti.

The Made-In-Aba Film Project, spearheaded by Anaedo Film Corporation, aligns with Governor Otti’s Greater Aba Development initiative, which seeks to restore the city to its former glory as a commercial and industrial powerhouse. Governor Otti’s endorsement of “Chronicles of Enyimba” as its Brand Ambassador underscores his commitment to this vision. He is expected to formally launch the film’s production in a highly anticipated ceremony, signaling the project’s transition from planning to execution.

Comrade Francis Ifeakandu, the producer of the Aba-Made Film Project, expressed his excitement at this pivotal moment. In a press briefing with other stakeholders and promoters of the film, he emphasized the project’s scale and ambition. “Chronicles of Enyimba” is set to be a 40-plus episode series featuring a diverse cast of 2,000 actors from across Africa, alongside homegrown talent. This extensive production is designed to showcase the vibrancy and resilience of Aba’s culture and economy.

“The team has dedicated years to meticulous preparation, from scriptwriting to other essential pre-production tasks,” Ifeakandu stated. “Thanks to the collective effort and commitment, we are now poised to begin production as soon as Governor Otti, our Brand Ambassador since 2022, gives the green light.”

The research underpinning “Chronicles of Enyimba” has been exhaustive, ensuring that the film will accurately portray Aba’s development through pre-colonial, colonial, and post-colonial eras. This comprehensive approach promises to deliver a narrative that not only entertains but also educates and inspires, offering a rich tapestry of the city’s evolution.

As Aba prepares for this cinematic celebration, the “Chronicles of Enyimba” stands as a testament to the city’s enduring legacy and its potential to once again become a beacon of innovation and progress in Nigeria.
