The Rivers House of Assembly will on Wednesday re-examine and confirm nine former commissioners who resigned from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet.
This was stated in a statement signed by the Secretary of the House, Emeka Amadi, on Monday in Port Harcourt.
The secretary said that the commissioners are the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Zaqueo Adangor; Works Commissioner Des George-Kelly; Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Woke; the Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Inime Aguma; and the Commissioner of Finance, Isaac Kamalu.
Others are: Education Commissioner, Chinedu Mmom; Housing Commissioner Gift Worlu; the Commissioner for Transport, Jacobson Nbina; and Environment Commissioner Austin Ben-Chioma.
Mr. Amadi, the secretary, said they are expected to submit 40 sets of their Curriculum Vitae, photocopies and original copies of their credentials to the Assembly and the legislative chamber (venue of the screening).

The resignation of the commissioners was done to spite Mr Fubara in the heat of the political battle between the governor and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is the Federal Capital Territory minister.
His planned reinstatement is part of the peace agreement brokered by President Bola Tinubu.
However, it is currently unclear whether Governor Fubara sent the list of commissioners to the Assembly in accordance with the requirements of the law.
The governor said a few days ago that he was committed to implementing the peace agreement, which he said was not a death sentence.
