Two firearms with eight live ammunition of .9mm caliber were recovered from the suspects, according to a statement issued on Thursday by the police spokesperson in Enugu, Daniel Ndukwe.
The two male suspects were arrested by officers serving with the Unity Police Division and the Crack Squad Tactical Team, according to Ndukwe, deputy superintendent of police.
“Acting on credible information, police officers serving with the Unity Police Division, on December 17 at about 5:45 pm, arrested one Emeka Fidelis, aged 28, at Ogbeke Nike and recovered a locally made cut-to-size double barrel pistol from his unlawful possession.

“In the same vein, police officers serving in the Crack Squad, on December 16 at about 3:30 am, arrested Sochima Okpara, 37, while on routine patrol in Trans-Ekulu, Enugu, and recovered a loaded Beretta pistol. with eight rounds of live .9mm caliber ammunition on your part.
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the suspect is a member and kingpin of the Apache Tiger (also known as “Two-two”) fraternity and has been involved in various criminal activities within the Enugu metropolis,” Mr Ndukwe said.
The police spokesperson said investigations into the cases were ongoing and the suspects would be charged upon conclusion of the investigation.
