Vice President Kashim Shettima gave that assurance when he visited crisis-ravaged communities in Plateau State to express his condolences to the people and the state government over the recent killings in Barkin Ladi and Bokkos Local Government Areas.
Vehemently promising that the killings in Plateau and other parts of the country must stop, the vice president said: “Now, please accept our deepest condolences. Please accept our sincerest apologies. Because we will not rest until you have access to justice and until you are safe.”

Identifying with the grieving families who lost their loved ones in the attack, the vice president acknowledged the fact that it is an unspeakable nightmare to bury families, describing it as a rare experience and far more unbearable than the pain of losing one. or two loved ones. .
“We cannot understand the depth of this pain beyond the experience of the bereaved. We can only offer to ease your pain. What happened to you is a funeral for the entire nation. Our hearts bleed alongside yours, our dear brothers and sisters in Bokkos, Barkin-Ladi and across Plateau State,” he stated.
Vice President Shettima assured the people that the Tinubu administration intends to protect them and ensure justice even though it may appear that the government has failed them in a time of grave need.
Noting that justice is the path to collective security, unity and healing of the nation, he said: “We came to power promising to defend the sanctity of the life of every citizen, and now is the time to assure you that this inter-communal violence , which has hijacked the humanity and serenity of this beautiful state over the past decades, will never persist under our watch. We will leverage all our resources to bring those responsible to justice; We will not rest until we are able to prevent these acts from happening again. atrocious.
