Police Inspector General Usman Baba approved the appointment of Omolola Odutola as the new Police Public Relations Officer for the Ogun State Police Command.
The force’s spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, made the announcement in a statement from Abuja on Thursday.
Miss Odutola replaces Abimbola Oyeyemi who has been reassigned to Oyo State.
Ms Odutola, who became the state’s first female police spokesperson, was introduced as a “lawyer, criminologist and security enthusiast.”
He enlisted in the police as a Cadet Assistant Police Superintendent member of the ASP Course 25, 2012.
According to Mr Adejobi, Ms Omolola is “a vibrant sports lover who served in Ondo State and was the first spokeswoman for the Maritime Command, Force Headquarters Annex, Kam Salem House, Obalende, Lagos.
“Omolola has also scouted the Office of Force Intelligence as an investigator and intelligence expert in law enforcement functions and criminal investigations.
“She is an alumnus of Olabisi Onabanjo Ago Iwoye University, Ogun State, where she studied law and then went on to the University of Lagos for her Masters in Criminology. Omolola is fascinated with the police as a phenomenal team player and a charismatic officer.
“She is an accomplished writer known for her exceptional oratory, eloquence and character. She is a member of several professional bodies and associations, including the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), where she is an associate.
“With her latest deployment to the entry state, her wealth of expertise in artificial and emotional intelligence will develop as she carries out her role as the Commando’s imager,” Adejobi said in a statement.
