His Majesty King Carlos III,

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR CORONATION

The splendor of the British monarchy and rich tradition came to the fore again on Saturday and the world literally came to a standstill as you are crowned the new British king, as King Charles III.

Therefore, by means of this letter, I convey my warmest congratulations on your coronation.

It is poignant that her accession to the throne comes after the 70-year reign of her iconic mother, Queen Elizabeth II, whose death last September left the entire world in mourning given her eventful reign.

Taking his unique place in history as the first King to be inaugurated in Great Britain since 1937, I am confident that he will follow in his late mother’s glorious footsteps and even surpass her achievements in the UK and Commonwealth.

Particularly notable about you is your love for the environment, most importantly your lifelong crusade for sustainability and biodiversity.

I hope you will continue to advance these initiatives with a good eye on the situation and plight of disadvantaged people in Africa and around the world.

As President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I also hope that during your reign, the excellent bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Great Britain will continue and even be strengthened in the interests of our two countries.

I look forward to further engagements with you and the opportunity for a meeting in the near future, as we have both previously indicated in discussions with mutual friends and associates.

Once again, I rejoice with you at your coronation and pray that Almighty God grant you strength and wisdom and make your reign successful for the benefit of not only the people of Great Britain but the entire world.

Please be assured of my warmest regards always.

Sincerely yours,

Asíwájú Bola Ahmed Tinubu,

President elect,

Federal Republic of Nigeria
