As the campaigns for the governorship elections come March 11 heats up in and around Nigeria, the good people of Abia, God’s Own State are currently nursing the high hopes that comes with Dr. Alex Otti’s expected victory at the end of this much heralded and historic polls which promises to change the fortunes of our country generally and Abia State in particular.
The case of the Abia State polls holds so much promise because the Labour Party Governorship Candidate Dr. Alex Chioma Otti has promised to liberate the state from the strange-hold of political job-men whose relentless greed have made Abia a laughing stock in the comity of Nigerian States in recent times.
This promise comes on the heels of Dr. Otti’s resolve to collaborate at the highest levels of Nigerians authorities and international agencies to turn the fortunes of God’s Own State, Abia in diversified areas of economic, social and cultural growth aimed at regaining the lost glory of the South Eastern parts of the country.
Dr. Otti at several campaign fora have continued to reiterate his total resolve and commitment to accelerate rural development through counterpart funding arrangements in partnership with town unions, provide a framework of grassroots security of lives and properties in all the nooks and crannies of the state while instituting deliberate policies to greatly improve health care facilities in the state.
He has also made it clear that his government will engage a strong focus on industrialization and increased business outputs for the overall improvement of the state’s economy while creating a framework to enhance the entire agriculture value chain and even the development of the solid minerals sector.
Dr. Alex Otti’s development agenda also includes a strong focus on the welfare of the youths, people living with disabilities, and other weak and vulnerable persons in the state. He is equally of the opinion that infrastructural rejuvenation of Aba and Umuahia towns is a first step to the state’s destined greatness as he embarks on a neck-deep provision of an efficient transport system which will include a mass network of roads and a state light railway services.
He has equally on several occasions stated his deep commitment towards the improvement of deliberate policies to enhance youth development and sports while creating a balanced gender issues arrangement through the creation of specific empowerment programs to help women owned small and medium scale enterprises to access funding at all levels.
Dr. Otti says always without equivocation that his government will promote environmental and ecological sustainability as a way of saving our people from avoidable disasters which today are commonplace.
One major economic and social arrowhead of Dr. Otti’s administration will be the enhancement of the entertainment, tourism and hospitality industry which will as a matter of urgent necessity properly locate the Nigerian Nollywood film industry in God’s Own State where if originally began about three decades ago.
This he intends to do by constructing a comprehensive one-stop film village in the likeliness of the American Hollywood based in Los Angeles in California – This movietown to be established in Isiala-Ngwa in the old Aba province of the former Eastern Nigeria will present practitioners and movie makers and other entertainers with all the fittings required for modern day film making. It will include schools, shopping malls, hospitals and even worship centres with round-the-clock electricity supply to enhance production outputs across board. It will also incorporate hotels, conference centres, public parks and whole lots of other facilities that creates conducive environment for business events and growth alongside a plan to collaborate with private investors to build first class international conference centres in Aba the Enyimba City and Umuahia the state capital that will accommodate varieties of events and programmes. This government will also partner with members of the organized private sector, entrepreneurs and property owners to build rated standard hotel facilities in major cities of the state and create a system that will support the economic boom that his administration aspire to boost through the instrumentality of attractive locations as success factors in economics. With the facility of a well-staged and established Nollwood in our dear state, one can only imagine the magnitude of unlimited national and international attention, business and economic and social opportunities it attracts to this part of the country. Indeed our state and region will reclaim its greatness in its entirety and all of us will be better for it, and that is true.
Above all, Dr. Otti has pledged to immediately after being sworn into office, embark on the urgent mission of clearing all outstanding unpaid salaries and pension monies owed our civil servants and retired personnel in the state and henceforth ensure prompt payment of salaries and pensions of workers as a further way of improving economic activities in Abia State in particular and the South Eastern part of Nigeria in general.
Regarding all these stated agenda of his government, Dr. Otti have continually enjoined all Abians and other Nigerians not to fail holding him accountable to his campaign promises when he takes over the helms of affairs of the state since truly positive men and women everywhere around the world are known to have their word as their bond at every point in time in all occasions.
The truth is that Dr. Alex Otti had systematically and steadily prepared himself for the task ahead as his current desire to govern Abia State is not accidental rather, it was born out of a deep-rooted conviction that purposeful leadership should be the direct outcome of proven past accomplishments of which his is traceable to a solid professional career in banking and international finance where he touched and improved the lives of various people, communities, including local, national and multi-national businesses and other enterprises in highly positive ways that keeps building more goodwill and wealth every other passing day since he still serves as consultant to many sectors of the national and international economy as a brilliant scholar, intellectual, professional, business executive, serial entrepreneur and philanthropist.
The platform of the Labour Party is today the most well-spread political party and organization driven by ordinary and grassroots people of Nigeria with the aim to entrench the building blocks of good governance in all part of our country after the mindless plunder by the past administrations at both federal and state levels of our authorities.
That is the reason why all Abians must troop out in mass large numbers on election day March 11, 2023 with our PVC’s to queue up at the various polling units in the state to vote for Dr. Alex Otti of the Labour Party on the ballot column recognizable by the picture of a father, mother and child otherwise known as papa, mama and pikin. We must also make sure to defend our vote against criminals who have remained our collective enemies over time.
A vote for Dr. Alex Otti is a vote for our collective progress and victory.
