We had a conversation with a mother from Nigeria about how to get rid of the belly fat that comes after pregnancy using natural methods.

Tips to reduce belly fat after delivery

Tips to reduce belly fat after delivery: When a woman gives birth, her stomach stretches and grows larger as a result of the process. When a woman is pregnant, her stomach grows enormously to accommodate the growing baby. The miraculous act of giving birth involves the baby being expelled from the mother’s stomach, at which point her stomach will begin to deflate.

The surrounding skin may sag, stretch, and become larger as a result of the condition. The older women in Nigeria have always found a way to get around this problem. We had a conversation with a mother from Nigeria about the ways that nursing mothers can reduce the amount of fat in their bellies.

  1. Hot water press

During the time that a new mother is taking a bath, the old wife will press all of the new mother’s body parts with hot water, ostensibly in an effort to assist the new mother in regaining her previous body.

2. Drinking hot tea or alcoholic beverages

It is not recommended that she consume anything cold after giving birth, including water. To get rid of her belly, she must drink only hot water, or else she could try taking alcoholic drinks.

3. Avoid starchy foods

Her advice was that breastfeeding mothers should avoid eating starchy foods such as eba, mashed yam, and semo. Maintain a light diet and consume a lot of pap that does not contain any sugar or milk.

4. Refrain from sitting down right away after you have finished eating.

After you have finished eating, do not sit or lie down for at least a few minutes; instead, walk around.

5. Wrap a piece of fabric or a girdle around your tummy

Wearing a girdle or tying a piece of cloth around your stomach several months after giving birth can help your stomach return to its pre-pregnancy size.

Does it work?

Surprisingly, some of these things do help in reducing fat, but new mothers should avoid the practice of sitting on hot water to expel blood clots as it is not recommended by medical professionals.
