Aba Mega Rally-Labour Party Candidates Peter Obi, Alex Otti Pledge To Revive Manufacturing In Abia, Decry Prolonged Misrule

  Presidential standard bearer of the Labour party Mr. Peter Obi and the gubernatorial candidate Dr. Alex Otti have both pledged to revive moribund industries in Aba the commercial capital of Abia state if they are elected into office.

The pledge came from the duo at the mega rally of the Labour party which held at the Ngwa High School Osisioma Aba on Thursday November 10th 2022. The rally had in attendance, party executives at both the state and national levels and a mammoth crowd of party faithfuls from all the local governments of Abia state and beyond.

The helicopter bearing the presidential candidate and his entourage touched down at the expansive Ngwa High School field to the overwhelming welcome of a mammoth crowd of party faithfuls made up mostly of young men and women yearning for a better Nigeria.

Security and protocol officials had a hard time controlling the vociferous and exited crowd who surged towards the aircraft bearing their beloved presidential candidate in a bid to catch a glimpse of his emergence from the chopper.

In his address Mr. Peter Obi bemoaned the sorry state of commercial and business activities in Aba which he described as the hub of manufacturing in the South East and Nigeria before it all crashed owing to government policy somersault and a lack of support.

He promised to revive the textile mills and foundries which Aba used to be known for hitherto if elected into office as president of the federation come 2023. He revealed he is touch with Geometrics power company to ensure the provision of uninterrupted power supply to the city for improved manufacturing efficiency.

Mr. Peter Obi stressed that his government will work hard to solve the problems associated with high unemployment in the country.

Gubernatorial candidate of the Labour party in Abia Dr. Alex Otti accused previous administrations in the state of mismanaging the resources of Abia leading to the exponential rise in poverty across the state. He noted the practise of owing workers and pensioners many months of unpaid wages as unacceptable and will be a thing of the past under his government in Abia.

Dr Alex Otti released his manifesto at the campaign rally. He charged members of the party and all Abians to vote for him and hold him to account on his promises as contained in his manifesto. He noted that as an astute financial expert he knows how to run a business profitably and will bring his wealth of financial management expertise to govern Abia when elected.

Labour party vice Presidential running mate Datti Ahmed charged the people of Aba enyinmba city not to relent in their industry and spirit of productivity. He reassured that Nigerians in the north have and will always patronise made in Aba products because they believe in the quality of such products.

He restated the promise made by his principal that massive industrial production will be revived in Aba and indeed the South East of Nigeria.

Labour party national chairman Julius Abure unveiled candidates of the party contesting for various offices in the state. He emphasized that his party had the most sellable candidates at both the national and state levels and called on the electorate in the state and Nigerians to vote massively for his party candidates come 2023 general elections.
