She was also the lead vocalist for the pop/R&B female band From Above, which she was a member of during her time in the United Kingdom. During one of Sound Sultan’s trips to London in 2011, Seyi was inspired to move back to Nigeria by one of Sultan’s performances. She is not married, but earlier this year she made news with her comments against the institution of marriage. On Simi’s Stoopid Sessions show, she discussed the topic with OAP Temi B and Seun Kuti, and during that time, she admitted that she would not be bothered if her husband had other women in his life. Seyi disclosed that so long as her husband is seeing more than one lady at a time, she will be okay. She claims that if he stays with just one lady, they would eventually fall in love, which will put their relationship in jeopardy, as she is in a relationship with him. However, if he has a number of other women in his life, they shouldn’t worry about their connection. In her words:
