Nigerian writer Chimamanda Adichie says she can’t wait to vote for Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election.
Mr. Obi is the Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate in the upcoming presidential election.
Ms Adichie had this to say in a post she shared on her verified Facebook page to celebrate Mr Obi turning 61 on Tuesday.
“I can’t wait for February 25, 2023, when I, with personal pride in you and hope of what Nigeria can become, will cast my vote for you and your running mate Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed. ”, the author of ‘Half a Yellow Sun’ said.
She also said she is inspired by Mr. Obi’s intellectual curiosity, eagerness to learn, and “true love of education” (which is why you sought out and honored Dad all those years ago when you learned he was the first teacher in Nigerian statistics). ).”
The best-selling author said she has always admired Obi’s human pragmatism and how he is willing to talk to just about anyone if he gets a good result.
The celebrated author’s endorsement of Mr. Obi’s presidential bid has continued to generate buzz on social media with many commenters praising the duo of Mr. Obi and Mrs. Adichie.
Mr. Obi recently emerged as the LP’s presidential candidate. He joined the LP after withdrawing from the People’s Democratic Party presidential primary.
Since then, the former governor of Anambra has continued to rally support, especially among social media-savvy young Nigerians.

I remember how you regaled Mum and Dad with your stories until we started joking about your obsession with “Malaysian GDP”. But your obsession spoke of hope: your hope for Nigeria, your belief in what Nigeria could be. A belief that has always been practical, based on numbers and reality.
I remember when you came to support me while I was being honored by the United Nations Foundation in New York, and I joked about the cheap hotel you were staying at, and you shrugged your shoulders and said, “It’s just a place to sleep, why ?” Do I need to be in an expensive place?
And then, just a few days later, you once again displayed your incredible generosity to causes you believe in, and it reminded me of all the hospitals, schools, and churches you’ve supported over the years, and often without fanfare. You have always been clear about what your priorities are, what matters to you, what you think should matter, and that is deeply admirable.
