The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) forecast cloudy and rainy weather conditions from Monday to Wednesday.

The NiMet weather result released on Sunday in Abuja forecast early morning rain over parts of Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi and Katsina on Monday.

According to him, isolated showers are expected over parts of Bauchi, Kaduna and Taraba later in the day.

“Cloudy tomorrow is expected over the north central region. Isolated showers are expected in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Niger and Plateau State later in the day.

Cloudy environment is anticipated over the interior and coastal cities of the South.

“During the afternoon and evening hours, isolated showers are expected in parts of Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Edo, Enugu, Rivers and Cross River, while drizzles are anticipated in parts of Lagos, Oyo, Ogun and Bayelsa,” said.

NiMet forecast cloudy skies on Tuesday with patches of sunshine in the northern region with a chance of thunderstorms in parts of Taraba during the morning hours.

He anticipated thunderstorms over parts of Kebbi, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kaduna, Kano, Borno, Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba later that day.

The agency expects the north central region to be cloudy with intervals of sunshine in the morning.

NiMet forecast a few thunderstorms over parts of the Plateau, the Federal Capital Territory and Niger during the afternoon and evening.

It forecast a cloudy atmosphere over the entire southern region in the morning hours.

The agency forecast isolated showers in parts of Enugu, Imo, Ondo, Edo, Ogun, Lagos, Rivers, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states during the afternoon and evening.

“By Wednesday, cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine expected over the northern region with the prospect of thunderstorms over Gombe and Taraba during the morning period.

Thunderstorms are expected in parts of Jigawa, Bauchi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kano and Katsina during the afternoon and evening.

“Thunderstorms are expected in the morning in parts of Niger. Thunderstorms are expected in parts of Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue during the afternoon and evening,” he said.

The agency forecast that inland cities and southern coastal cities would be cloudy during the morning hours.

It predicted rain over parts of Oyo, Ogun and all the coastal states during the afternoon and evening hours.

According to him, to reduce the incidence of erosion and overflow of water beyond its normal limit, drains and waterways must be cleared of debris and obstacles to ensure the free flow of water.

“Airline operators are advised to obtain up-to-date weather reports from NiMet for effective planning in their operations,” he said.
