He said police have contacted some “VIPs” to ensure compliance.

Meanwhile, the police commissioner in Anambra state, Echeng Echeng, ordered the implementation of the ban in the state.
Police spokesman in the state, Tochukwu Ikenga, who revealed this in a statement on Thursday, said the commissioner’s directive complied with the IGP’s order.
The Commissioner, Mr. Echeng, has established an enforcement team to ensure the recovery of all espionage police license plates in the state, Mr. Ikenga said.
Mr. Echeng tasked area commanders and division police officers, as well as other heads of police facilities in the state, with supporting the enforcement team in carrying out the directive.
He said the order was part of deliberate measures aimed at strengthening internal security in the country, as well as preventing violations of traffic regulations throughout the country.
According to him, the ban became necessary because some people hide under the privileges of spy police license plates to violate the laws governing road users.
The police commissioner urged state residents to ensure “voluntary compliance with directives” to avoid being arrested by police.
