Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara has declared a week off from work to allow civil servants and civil servants to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC).

Information Commissioner Alhaji Ibrahim Dosara revealed this in a statement on Saturday in Gusau.

“This is to inform the general public that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of the State of Zamfara, Bello Matawalle, has declared the upcoming week, Monday to Friday, June 20-24, as a workless week.

“This is so that the state public and public servants can go to their respective locations to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Credentials (PVC).

“By this announcement, all commissioners, special advisers, permanent secretaries, other public office holders, party officials and traditional rulers are directed to monitor and oversee the ongoing ongoing voter registration exercise.”

According to him, community leaders are expected to ensure that eligible voters within their districts and local government areas register and obtain their PVCs.

‘This, he said, is to enable them to exercise their fundamental rights and civic responsibilities.
