Residents of Kanti in the Kazaure Local Government Area of Jigawa State they were alarmed on Sunday morning to find an unidentified man with a noose around his neck, hanging from a tree.
Residents told PREMIUM TIMES that the unidentified person may have killed himself overnight.
As residents gathered to take a look at the body, many wondered who he was, as he was not immediately identified as a member of the community.
However, police, who removed the body from the tree, said they are working to unravel the man’s identity and how he may have died.
Police spokesman Lawan Adam told PREMIUM TIMES that the man’s body was deposited at a morgue in the Kazaure council area.
Adam said two mobile phone SIM cards were found on the dead man.
