NAHCON PRESIDENT ANNOUNCES HAJJ FEE FOR 2022 HAJJ
Nigerian pilgrims for the 2022 Hajj from southern Nigeria are required to pay N2,496,815.29, while their counterparts from the northern part of the country will pay N2,449,607.89. For the states of Adamawa and Borno, they must pay N2,408,197.89 due to the proximity to Saudi Arabia. The cost of the air ticket is the main difference in the Hajj fare.
This was announced today, June 4, 2022 by NAHCON President Zikrullah Hassan in an extraordinary meeting with the CEOs of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards at NAHCON Hajj House.
Following the announcement of the fee, all the executive officers of the State Pilgrim Welfare Boards and other participants gave a standing ovation to the NAHCON leaders for doing a good job of keeping the Hajj fee below the deposit. of N2.5 million despite obvious challenges. The meeting appreciated the effort made by the President of NAHCON to achieve this feat on behalf of the Nigerian pilgrims.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Hassan reminded the meeting that all stakeholders do not have the luxury of time and we know from experience that Saudi Arabia will not add an additional hour once the landing deadline expires. . He reported that the commission has requested more seats for the Hajj, but NAHCON is still waiting for a response.
So, in the meantime, all states must work and exhaust the allocations that have been given to them rather than wait any longer.

Mr. Hassan revealed that while the visas of officials and pilgrims on the inaugural flight are ready, states must begin processing visas for all categories of registered pilgrims. The president urged others to send his staff to study the visa processing system due to recent changes Saudi Arabia introduced this year.
However, those state board executives who are ready will receive an orientation on the process today after the meeting.
On the issue of the difficulty in acquiring travel passports, Mr. Hassan reported that the board member representing Nigerian Immigration Service he had promised to help any state board having trouble processing travel documents for their pilgrims. Therefore, she ordered the executive secretaries of the state boards to contact her for help.
A call was made to intensify the illumination on Hadaya to prevent the pilgrims from being deceived. Also, said the Executive Director of NAHCON, it costs cheaper when paying from Nigeria due to the benefit of foreign exchange.
Similarly, the President announced that the pilgrims will undergo the covid-19 PCR test at a discounted price of 30,000.

Nura Yakassai, NAHCON Commissioner in charge of Policy, Personnel Administration and Finance, encouraged states to finalize the remittance of funds to speed up Hajj preparations and for the processing of Basic Travel Allowances.
In his closing remarks, the President of the Forum of States, Idris Al’ Makura, commended the NAHCON board for the commendable work and called for the cooperation of all sectors.
