President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with the presidential hopefuls of the Congress of all progressives (APC).
The meeting began at 9 pm on Saturday, PREMIUM TIMES has learned.
Some of the presidential hopefuls at the meeting include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Lagos Governor Bola Tinubu, former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi and Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi.
The meeting takes place less than 48 hours before APC begins its presidential primary to choose its presidential candidate for next year’s general election.
A total of 23 presidential hopefuls are still in contention to be the party’s candidate.
However, President Buhari recently told the APC state governors that he wants to elect his successor and needs their support to do so.
