                                                             By Ted Charles Chinekezi

BE HUMBLE AND TEACHABLE: it is been said in an adage that those who are humble and teachable would always find their way. Humility and obedience starts at home. Before one can become a humble and lovable personality one must be humble and lovable at home.

THINKING BEFORE REACTING: sometimes we swiftly throw reactions at what we see or hear at first before thinking reasonably. It is the human nature, still at that we humans are pretty much adjustable and it is in our hands to choose what our mental and emotional reactions would look like. Throwing out reactions quickly can lead one into so many mistakes and misconduct and make us look emotionally frail. If one encounters any perceived or suspected negative event, scenario, complaint, gossip, action or news, don’t be in a hurry to loose your cool, rather maintain a strong charisma. First calm your mind down by remembering that all problems can be solved. Ever be mindful of your facial expression and body composure before thinking of how to solve what is on hand.

Simply understand that you are way above the immediate issue with a thoughtful approach. Avoid making matters worst by hard response or using biased or controversial responses. Take these steps no matter how long it takes.

ABOUT DREAMS AND PASSIONS: it is not surprising if you don’t have a passion or you’ve met people who have got no dreams. If one doesn’t seem to have great love or vision for something worth doing then you have no passion yet for that particular thing. Passions and dreams are most times rooted in our talents, skills and abilities. If you are without passion or dreams, sincerely you are without a compass, destination and purpose. That’s not all. You’ve equally got a future filled with poverty, fruitless struggles, frustration, and dubious means of income. Now that you know what it means growing up without ambitions, the question is how can you find your ambitions?. First of all, ask yourself these questions: what do I want to be known for? Where do I want to find myself in the future?

One good way of finding out what you want to be known for is to thoughtfully picture what you love doing best and then think about yourself doing it as a career. If you take these steps and you don’t feel satisfied then stop and go back to the drawing board. Repeat the steps having another desire, talent or ability in mind. It is alright if these processes doesn’t work well for you, since not everyone discovers his or hers quickly. If this procedure works well for you then it is advisable to let your parents know your ambitions by sharing your passions and dreams with them. Always get them  updated with your newest developments. As your parents plan and budget for your education they would do the same for your ambitions. Stay tuned and continue to read this column.
