Police arrest teacher for allegedly raping 13-year-old student

Ogun State Police arrested Ayobami Runsewe, a 25-year-old teacher at a kindergarten and primary school in Ago Iwoye, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.

The defendant was arrested on Thursday following a report filed with the Ago Iwoye Police Division by the minor’s mother.

This was stated in a statement signed by state police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi and made available to journalists in Abeokuta on Saturday.

In the statement, Mr. Oyeyemi said that the mother had gone to the station with the victim to report how the teacher reportedly lured her into his home.

The teacher reportedly had “illegal carnal knowledge” after a night class, around 4:30 p.m.

Mr. Oyeyemi, deputy chief of police, said that “the victim’s blood-soaked pants were taken to the police station as evidence.”

Following the report, Mr. Oyeyemi added that “Ago Iwoye DPO SP Noah Adekanye had dispatched detectives to the scene where they promptly arrested the horny professor.

“On questioning, he initially denied having anything to do with the victim, but when the victim confronted him, he was unable to say anything more.”

The statement said that Ogun State Police Commissioner Lanre Bankole has ordered the teacher to be transferred to the anti-trafficking and child labor unit for further investigation.
