Uko Emmanuel, a rapidly rising Nigerian actor and comedian, better known as red butterflyhas revealed why he ditched his Marine Biology degree to do skits.
The comedian is already a household name in the Nigerian entertainment industry and currently has 1.3 million followers on Instagram.
The actor, who started creating comedy skits in 2019, has appeared in many movies, including “Oko Mummy” and “Demoosha.”
He has also filmed some comedy sketches with Mr Macaroni, Broda Shaggi, The Cute Abiola, and Nosa ‘Baba’ Rex.

Mr. Emmanuel graduated in Cell Biology and Genetics from Lagos State University.
He also has a degree in leadership and team development from the International Business Management Institute, Berlin, Germany 2019.
He proceeded to pursue a Masters in marine biology at the University of Lagos, graduating in 2022 as the top Marine Biology graduate student.
Despite being a high flyer throughout his studies, Mr. Emmanuel said he is persistent in pursuing his dreams about his degrees.
Speaking about his driving force, he said: “It has always been a passion since I was a child. Despite being a science student, he could easily find happiness through skits and express it.”
Commenting on his steady rise in the industry, Redbutterflydude said, “I’m an influencer who has worked with so many different brands to get their products out there.”
Redbutterflydude is not only an Instagram comedian, but also an actor, screenwriter, and content creator.

Speaking about the story behind his nickname, the jovial entertainer explained that “the color red signifies importance and the butterfly in science is an insect that grows in different stages, which means that people should not be afraid to spread their wings. and take flight. I will allow my wings to take me to places I have never been. I will flap and flap as I sail to where the sweetest nectar is found.”

Redbutterflydude, who identifies as sapiosexual (someone who finds intelligence sexually attractive or arousing), began creating comedy skits in 2019 and currently plans to take culinary lessons, advising rising actors to be consistent in whatever they’re doing. .
He said: “Passion is like an investment. Young actors must be consistent with living within their means. Many don’t see it that way, but passion is an investment. The more you keep doing what you love to do, the more you invest in yourself because you get better every day, and surely there will come a day when your passion will speak for you. When you invest in what you love to do, over time, it brings rewards beyond your wildest imagination.”
