TCN seeks help from communities against vandalism
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has called on host communities to help in the fight against vandalism of the nation’s assets.

TCN Managing Director Mr. Sule Abdulaziz made the appeal in a statement by Ms. Ndidi Mbah, General Manager (Public Affairs) of TCN, on Monday in Abuja.

Abdulaziz led the company’s management team in an on-site assessment of the destroyed tower No. 104, along the 330 kilovolt (KV) Odukpani/Ikot Ekpene transmission line.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that the transmission line is located in the community of Oku Iboku, Akwa Ibom Itu Local Government Area.

Abdulaziz urged communities to report suspicious activities around their operations to TCN offices or security agents.

“The shattered tower caused a sudden loss of 400MW from the grid, causing it to collapse on April 8.
“Since then, the network has been restored,” he said.
