
The All Progressives Congress (APC) will begin the selection of candidates for various elective offices on Tuesday before the National Convention on Saturday.
Emmanuel Otagburuagu, secretary of the APC National Convention Selection Committee, said this in a statement Monday in Abuja.
He said the applicants would be tested in two batches at the Katsina State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.
“The Selection Subcommittee of the National Convention has invited applicants to the exercise.
“Gov. Aminu Masari, President, Dimeji Bankole, Co-Chair of the 2022 APC National Convention Selection Committee, hereby invites all applicants to the selection exercise.
The schedule for the screening is as follows:
“1. Tuesday, March 22, 2022: Selection of the National President and other candidates for the National Work Committee (NWC), while the time will be communicated to the candidates later.
“Location: Katsina State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.
“two. Wednesday, March 23, 2022: Selection of applicants for the Zonal offices.
“Time: 10 a.m.
“Location: Katsina State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.
“The new national executives are expected to be elected at the APC National Convention on Saturday March 26 to manage their affairs, which is currently being managed by the Watch and Special Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).”
Among the national presidential hopefuls to be evaluated by the committee are two former Nasarawa state governors and sitting senators Tanko Al-Makura and Abdullahi Adamu.
Also to be scrutinized are former Benue State Governor and Minister for Special Duties George Akume, Niger East Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, former Deputy National President of the late Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) Saliu Mustapha and 37-year-old old Mohamed Etsu.
