An Ikeja forensic court will summon more witnesses in the search to unravel the circumstances that led to the death of a 12-year-old student. dowen collegee, Lagos, Sylvester Oromoni Jr.
The coroner, Mikhail Kadiri, made the disclosure at the end of the proceedings on Tuesday.
He noted that the investigation is a fact-finding exercise and that many questions would need to be answered.
The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that witnesses to be called by the coroner include roommates of the deceased student at Dowen College, the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) in the case at Warri, Delta, and a Dowen College nurse who cared for the deceased student.
Other witnesses to be subpoenaed include a family friend of the Oromoni, Opudu Boro, two independent pathologists who will include a forensic pathologist, John Obafunwa.
The coroner will also invite the doctor who performed the first autopsy on the late student at Warri, Clement Vhterhire, and the students who allegedly played football with the deceased at school during which he sustained an ankle injury.
NAN reports that the student was alleged to have died on November 30, 2021 from injuries he sustained in an attack by five Dowen College seniors for refusing to join a cult.
It was also alleged that his attackers forced him to drink a poisonous substance.

However, advice from the Lagos State Public Ministry Directorate, published on January 4, disputed the accusations.
He stated that an autopsy revealed that Mr. Oromoni’s cause of death was acute bacterial pneumonia due to severe sepsis.
Mr. Kadiri adjourned the proceedings until February 21 for further hearing. (YAYA)
