Africa’s flagship football tournament is set for an exciting finale this Sunday night as Senegal’s Teranga Lions are set to take on Egypt’s Pharaohs in the final match of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The month-long tournament, which has endured its fair share of the good, the bad and the ugly, is expected to enjoy an exciting finale as some of the continent’s best players will parade tonight at the Stade Omnisport Paul Biya (Yaounde).
Although some have narrowed it down to a Sadio Mane vs Mohamed Salah final, there is more to Senegal and Egypt than these two iconic players.
Tonight’s mission for both Mane and Salah is to help their countries win this coveted title and their contributions may be the deciding factor.
Although Egypt already has seven AFCON titles, Salah has never won it and is desperate to do so tonight.
Mane would be even more desperate as Senegal have never won an AFCON title and only came close twice in 2002 and 2019.
