An inferno has swept through shops at the new Lafia Motor Park in Nasarawa state, destroying millions of naira worth of goods.
A correspondent from the Nigerian News Agency (NAN), who visited the scene of the incident, learned that the fire started on Friday night and lasted until early Saturday morning.
However, it took several hours for state fire service personnel to put out the fire.
Speaking about the incident, State Fire Service Coordinator Hanatu George said they received a distress call on Friday night and responded immediately.
Mr. George, however, said that although no lives were lost, an investigation had begun to determine the cause of the fire.
One of the victims of the fire disaster, Ejike Igwe, a car parts salesman, said his entire workshop was leveled in hell.
Igwe, who said he couldn’t quantify his assets lost in the fire disaster, appealed to energetic Nigerians for help. (YAYA)
