How Ernest Shonekan passed on – Family: Previous Nigerian pioneer “Ernest Shonekan” is dead.
Chief Ernest Shonekan who headed the Interim National Government that succeeded the junta of General Ibrahim Babangida, has passed on.
Chief Ernest Shonekan died at the age of 85 years in Lagos.
He was the interval top of the Nigerian Government between August 26 and November 17 1993 when he was expelled in an upset drove by late General Sani Abacha.
A previous Nigerian pioneer, Ernest Shonekan, passed on from “regular causes” on Tuesday morning, his family has said.
Adeboye Shonekan expressed this in an assertion in the interest of the family.

The Ogun-conceived legislator was the top of the interval government that drove Nigeria between the tactical states of Ibrahim Babangida and Sani Abacha.

President Muhammadu Buhari portrayed the late pioneer as a globally regarded legislator with bold insight.
Mr Buhari said Mr Shonekan left his “thriving business profession to turn into the Head of Government, at a fragile time when the nation required person of his quiet character and family to save the boat of state from sinking.”
In his sympathy message, previous President Goodluck Jonathan said Mr Shonekan was a peacemaker and scaffold developer who left suffering inheritances.
“As a pioneer, Chief Shonekan was very much regarded due to the huge altruism he brought into administration.
“He was a not really settled overseer, a peacemaker and scaffold developer who stepped in to lead the country at a truly challenging time throughout the entire existence of its political advancement.”
