The president of the Epe board orders projects to commemorate 100 days in office

The president of the Epe Local Government Area, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, has presented several development projects achieved during her first 100 days in office in a commemorative ceremony.

Delivering a renovated customary courtroom, Animashaun noted that the project was in line with its promise to the people of the land of Epe to deliver dividends of democracy at the grassroots and make governance impact everyone.

Joining the president at the courtroom opening ceremony were dignitaries, including royal parents, political leaders, and serving government officials, among others. Among them are the traditional ruler of Epeland, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, the legislator representing Epe constituency 1 in the House of the State Assembly, Abiodun Mustain Tobun, the executive chairman of the Eredo local government, H.E. Saliu Adeniyi, leader of the Congress of All Progressives (APC), Epe Division and member of the Advisory Council of the Governor of APC Lagos State (GAC), Chief Shakiru Akanni Seriki-Bamu, among others.

The highlights of the ceremony, which took place at the local government secretariat and drew a large crowd, included the distribution of such items from tailoring machines, grinders, generator sets, exercise books, school bags and stationery, among others.

While in office, Princess Surah revealed that the impact of her administration has been felt in key areas such as infrastructure, sports, education, health, security, agriculture, tourism, staff well-being and economic empowerment.

Among its socioeconomic impacts, it highlighted the remodeling of 39 schools, the construction of classroom blocks, the construction of wells, the provision of ambulances and buses for staff, as well as the construction of roads with public lighting.

Others include hiring teachers, rehabilitating and training local security officers such as OPC and Ibile, empowering artisans, supporting the well-being of the elderly and widows, and commemorating World Tourism Day with the launch of Epe. Alaró Tourism.

While performing her stewardship role, Princess Surah revealed, “The importance of 100 days in office is being accountable to the people and letting them know that they did not choose a statue, but someone who can represent them well. I want to show that I am capable and with God on our side, there is nothing we cannot achieve. As a woman and the first female CEO, I want to totally change Epe’s face.
