The Emir of Daura Turban Buhari's son Yusuf as District Chief

The Emir of Daura, Farouk Umar, put a turban on Saturday on Yusuf Buhari, the only son of President Muhammadu Buhari as Talban Daura and district head of the Kwasarawa community.

Mr. Umar said on the occasion that Yusuf deserved to be appointed district chief considering the development advances brought to the emirate by his father.

He added that in his new role he will visit Daura regularly and participate in the daily routines of the emirate council, contributing his quota for its development.

The emir praised President Buhari for the positive impact his administration was having on rejuvenating the nation’s infrastructure and for its economic diversification.

The Daura Emirate Council recently appointed President Buhari’s nephew, Musa Haro, as the district head of the ancestral city of Dumurkol in Buhari.

Yusuf Buhari’s turban was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Also in attendance were Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari, his Kano State counterpart Abdullahi Ganduje, and Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika.

Also in attendance were the Emir of Bichi in Kano State, Nasiru Ado Bayero, the former Governor of Borno, Sheriff Ali Modu and members of the Legislative Assembly of Katsina State.

Mr. Buhari and his wife, Aisha, did not attend the ceremony as they are currently in Istanbul attending the third Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit. .

Yusuf married Zahra, daughter of the Emir of Bichi in August.
